VISIONS DANCE PERFORMANCE COMPANY
This pre-professional performance company showcases Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap styles. VDPC membership is by audition only. New Students interested in Company should contact Ms. Laura or Ms. Dani for a private placement audition. A one-time fee due in early Fall covers the cost of rehearsal time, costumes, and assists in the rental of the Spring Showcase venue. Select optional performances will require additional costs. VDPC rehearses on a rotating schedule at the same time every week. Rehearsals are mandatory. Company members are encouraged to participate in Junior, Intermediate, or Senior Company Intensives held every summer to learn choreography for the upcoming year.
Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels are open to ages 9 years and up. Company members must be in Junior level classes or higher. Dancers who wish to audition for VDPC must have at least 1 (school) year experience in Ballet. New students will be considered by on a case-by-case basis and may require a private technical evaluation. Eligible dancers will be evaluated by audition. Those accepted will be placed into the appropriate company level for their age, class level, and technical ability. Senior Company members must enroll in each technique class that corresponds to the styles they wish to perform with VDPC. All company members are required to take Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Technique/Leaps/Turns (TLT), and are encouraged to enroll in additional classes at or below their technical level. Senior-level company dancers must be enrolled in two Ballet classes (not including pointe).
Performance opportunities range from nursing homes and festivals to prestigious stages and outdoor venues. Visions strives to find unique opportunities for VDPC. Past performances include the Philadelphia Youth Dance Festival, Wings of Hope Benefit Concert, Statue of Liberty, and Spring Up Dance Festival.
